TXDPS Level III Commissioned Security Officer
Level III is the 45-hour TXDPS training required to carry a firearm while working security in Texas. The course combines classroom instruction on legal authority and use of force with live-fire handgun qualification on the range.

Prerequisites
- 21 years of age or older (18 with qualifying military service)
- Completed Level II training or concurrent enrollment
- Able to lawfully possess a firearm
- Personal handgun and 200 rounds of ammunition (rentals available)
